Scotlands second ranked Table Tennis Player and West Lothian Community Table Tennis Club member, Colin Dalgleish, has secured his place at the Commonwealth Games this summer in Birmingham.
Commonwealth Games Scotland announced, earlier this May 2022, that Livingston professional Table tennis player Colin has secured his place for this Summer’s games in Birmingham. Colin is currently Scotland’s second ranked table tennis player after a strong performance at the recent Scottish ChampionshipsThis year’s Commonwealth Games will be Colin’s second. Colin made his Commonwealth debut in Australia in 2018, competing in the men’s singles and the men’s team event.
Colin secured his first Scottish national title in 2020 and represented Great Britain at the World University Games in Taipai in 2017 and in Naples in 2019.
Colin said in his Facebook announcement:
I’m absolutely delighted to be representing Scotland at my second Commonwealth Games. Over the next few months, I’ll be working even harder to be in the best shape possible for Birmingham 2022. Can’t wait for the games to begin!
Team Scotland will be made up of Colin Dalgleish, Lucy Elliot, Rebecca Plaistow, and Gavin Rumgay
The Table Tennis events will take place at the NEC Arena in Birmingham between July 29 and August 8 2022, with two sessions a day.
A Table Tennis Scotlands’ spokesperson announced in April and said:
