Here’s a wee good news update!
Team V had a match on Thursday evening against Penicuik V and came out on top 7-3 in a match where Anais Saliou made her debut in league table tennis winning her first game and taking a set off each of her other opponents.
Anais partnered Martin R in the doubles but we didn’t manage the win in a tight 5 setter. Mei was steady as usual winning all 3 games being the foundation to keep me calm and take the pressure off to allow me to win my 3 games.
It is going well keeping us up there on top, but with at least 4 teams capable of winning this division.
Our main contenders are Edinburgh International IV who we beat 10-0, but they just seem to be there and winning the majority of their matches along with Corstorphine IV and V both doing well and also North Merchiston VI.
So, congratulations to Anais on her first match, doing well, staying in the game and winning her first match.
Next week we play Murrayfield XI who are on a winning streak and will keep our team of Mei, Martin and Lionel on their toes.
This is a home game at Bathgate on Thursday.
